plays an ecclectic mix of electrified rock n' roll music past and present, original and standard. Much of it is instrumental, and vocalized tunes are carefully selected for maximum impact. Classic surf? Yes. Generation X grunge? Right again. Baby Boomer blues and psychedelia? You can bet your last blotter tab on it. What about jazz, fusion and TV theme songs? Yes, yes, and yes. Of course, the one question that really matters these days is CAN THEY JAM? Sheeit.... Spirit Plane will leave you thinking they work dayjobs making JAM at a SMUCKER'S factory.
Spirit Plane
has been through many incarnations and lineups. Currently, the members of Spirit Plane are Tim Schuetz, Jason Wise, Ben Kauth, Dylan Heckman, and Kevin Gass. Tim Schuetz plays mostly electric guitar but has also been known to occasionally lay hands on a lap steel guitar or Hammond organ. Jason Wise is in charge of wisdom, snappy clothing, and drums. Ben Kauth plays bass... and does he ever. Dylan Heckman is most often seated behind the keyboards, but occasionally grabs Tim's guitarfor a song or three. Kevin "Cubby" Gass provides the vocals when there's singing to be done, and keeps the ladies company when there's not.
Spirit Plane
is most frequently seen in and around Madison, Wisconsin, but occasional sightings have been reported in various other parts of the upper midwest. Upcoming opportunities to experience Spirit Plane are as follows:
